Hi everyone, sorry I have been forgetting to appoint a secretary these days. Remind me, okay? So yesterday we started out with an extra credit opportunity. I asked you to write down the names of as many classmates you could remember. One point for every two names. Then we did a prompt: Write about a weird event, twilight zone kind of thing that happened in your life. Then we talked about our next Business Writing assignment: The Proposal. As a class, we are going to put together a proposal which will increase the use of re-usable bags at the "ValueSave" grocery store over a two-year period. I broke you into groups and gave each group an assignment. You alsp submitted your "two paragrpahs of my research paper" assignment.
see you in class!
Anne
I sent an email about the Proposal Project. If you did not receive the email, please send me an email at price4396@mstc.edu and let me know which group you are in. I will then forward a copy of the email to you. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSummary of class on 11/3/10
ReplyDeleteWe started out with our language tip of the week. It was Hang, Hung, Hanged. We learned in which circumstances to use which. We also learned Hanger (clothes) vs. Hangar (airplanes).
Anne then stressed to us the importance of your topic sentence in each paragraph. It must set the scene for the rest of your paragraph! We looked at Tom's first paragraphs. Great job Tom!
Then, Anne handed out a packet on parallel sentence structuring. It should be done for tomorrow. Its not graded, but recommended (she's thinking about a quiz!).
Then, at the end of class, we got into our assigned groups and talked about our assignment.
